My name is Jason Kiester, and I am the principal at Magic Valley High School.
I was born and raised in Marsing, Idaho and ended up attending Wilder High School, Caldwell High School, and Mountain Home High School, where I graduated in 2002. I then decided to go into education when attending college. While going to college, I was a substitute teacher and para for the Shelley School District. I then began my teaching career at Vallivue High School, where I taught in the ESL program. Over the next few years, I taught Spanish I & II at Skyview High School and 7th grade ELA at Homedale Middle School.
My family and I moved to Independence, Missouri in 2013 where I taught 6th grade ELA for five years. My family and I moved back to Idaho in 2018, and I taught 7th/8th grade Spanish at Star Middle School for three years. In 2021, my family and I moved to Twin Falls where I became the vice principal at South Hills Middle School until taking over the principal position here at Magic Valley High School in 2023.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my family. I have a beautiful wife of 15 years, and we have three kids. My love for sports, especially basketball, follows closely behind my love for my family. I coached basketball for 17 years and volleyball for 8 years.
I can’t tell you how excited I am to be working at Magic Valley High School. It is an amazing place filled with so many amazing students and staff. MVHS is a great place to be!
