Magic Valley High School Principal Announces Retirement

The Twin Falls School District would like to congratulate and thank Roger Keller for his years of service to the TFSD and his upcoming retirement. Keller serves as the principal at Magic Valley High School. 

 

Keller has been the principal of Magic Valley High School for ten years. Prior to leading the MVHS team, he was the principal at Buhl High School for four years. He also served as associate principal at Twin Falls High School from 2008 to 2009 and Dean of Students at Kimberly High School from 2000-2008. His education career began in 1987 at Twin Falls High School where he taught consumer economics and was an assistant basketball and football coach. In 1994 Keller took a position at Kimberly High School where he taught accounting, business law, economics, and fitness. He also served as the head boys basketball coach and assistant football coach during his time at Kimberly High School. 

 

Keller graduated from Idaho State University in 1981 from Idaho State University with a bachelor of science in physical education. Keller also holds a bachelor of science in agricultural business which he received from Utah State University in 1986. Keller earned a master's in educational leadership from the University of Idaho in 2005.

 

Keller was named Idaho Secondary School Principal of the Year in 2021. He served as the President of the Idaho Association of Secondary Administrators during the 2016-17 school year and President of the Idaho Association of Secondary School Principals during the 2015-16 school year. Keller also holds accolades for his coaching. He was named Idaho Distinguished Basketball Coach of the Year in 2007 and received the District IV Basketball Coach of the Year and was a member of the District IV Football and Basketball Coaching Staff of the Year while at TFHS and KHS.

 

"Roger Keller has been a tremendous leader and has lead Magic Valley High School as they support students who have overcome so much to continue their education,” said Superintendent Brady Dickinson. “We are proud of his work and are excited to see where his next adventure leads.”

 

Thank you to this educator for his service to the children of the Magic Valley! The district will begin work recruiting a new principal for this school for the upcoming school year.
